When you’re in charge of managing multiple social media networks, coming up with new ideas for Instagram posts can be hard—never mind the time and effort it takes to get everything set up in order to capture the perfect shot.
Regramming—which is Instagram-speak for posting someone else’s photo on your own account with the appropriate credit—can help by providing you with content to post when you don’t have time to create your own. How to regram in Hootsuite
When viewing an Instagram post within Hootsuite, tap on the ‘reshare’ button to share the post on your own Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram accounts. The post’s image and caption, along with photo credit (which will appear as “📷: @username”) will be entered into the compose box so you can edit, send, or schedule as desired.
1. In an Instagram stream within Hootsuite Mobile, tap the image you’d like to regram, and then click on the reshare icon.
(Note: In your desktop browser window, simply click the reshare icon from within your Instagram stream.)
2. The compose box will open and automatically attach the photo, include the original caption, and append photo credit (📷: @username).
3. Choose the social networks that you want to post to. Note that the photo credit (📷: @username) will reflect the Instagram handle of the original poster, which may differ from their Twitter handle. You can manually change the username in the compose box.
4. Save, send, or schedule as usual.
